We’re on the lookout for a dedicated Production Roaster to join the Gabriel roasting crew in Sydney. If you’ve got experience on the tools, a sharp eye for detail, and a love for making coffee taste its absolute best, we’d love to have you on our side.
This is a full-time role at our Chatswood roastery, where Gabriel Coffee is roasted fresh every day and shipped out to our partners and customers across Australia.
About the Role
Roasting is the heartbeat of Gabriel. Our production team is responsible for keeping our blends consistent, our single origins dialled, and our customers’ trust rock solid.
As a Production Roaster, you’ll:

Prepare and weigh green coffee for blends and singles

Roast to profile using our set recipes and schedules

Keep detailed roasting logs and run QC protocols

Fulfil service and cleaning schedules (because clean roasters = tasty coffee)

Sample roast and support R&D when needed

Move coffee around safely (up to 24kg bags, so consider this your gym membership)

Help out with stock takes and warehouse flow

Cup regularly with the team and contribute to quality discussions

Pitch in at events, customer visits, and the odd experiment in making things better
About You
We’re after someone who thrives in a busy production environment, has a good palate, and is ready to keep learning. A great fit will be:

Experienced (ideally 2+ years roasting, and Cropster is a plus)

Obsessed with coffee quality (from farm through to cup)

Organised, detail-driven, and solutions-focused

Strong communicator who plays well with others

Physically fit and comfortable lifting green coffee bags
-
Forklift licence = bonus points
