RWACOF (Sucafina in Rwanda) began operating Kibirizi washing station in 2021. About 1,130 farmers deliver cherry to Kibirizi from surrounding farms in Nyamagabe in Rwanda’s Southern Province. RWACOF provides training in Good Agricultural Practices and sustainable agriculture land management.
Smallholders propel the industry in Rwanda forward. The country doesn’t have any large estates and most coffee is grown by the 400,000+ smallholders, who own less than a quarter of a hectare. Most of Rwanda’s coffee production is Arabica with the Bourbon variety making up 95% of all coffee trees cultivated in Rwanda.
This fully washed lot is juicy and bursting with citrus and honey sweetness!
