The story behind the coffee

Abdo Aba Mecha produces this washed lot in Illbu Kebele (village), in Ethiopia’s Jimma Zone, at 1,900–2,100 metres above sea level. Working with the JARC 74110 variety, Abdo selects only the ripest cherries before hand-pulping them in the evening. After washing the following morning, the coffee is protected from direct sunlight on pre-drying tables, then transferred to raised beds to dry for around 14 days.
